What is the population in Yucatan and in its capital, Merida?

According to the latest census done by INEGI the city of Merida has 892,363 residents and the state of Yucatan with 2´097,175 residents amounts that have been increasing in recent years due to increased immigration that has taken to the city, due to its high reputation not only regionally, but also at national and international level, there are various nationality´s of people who have chosen Merida as their place of residence, with its high standard of living, well-educated people, history and traditions.
